River whisper

Leave me alone

Love me

Connect with me

Care with me

Listen to my whispers

Listen to my anger

Or I will flood

Listen to my anger

Or I will dry out

And you will too

Don’t you see it?

That we’re not that different?

You also want to be cared for and loved

And left alone, sometimes.

Three little ducks

I observe and feel these

Three little ducks

They paddle upstream challenged by my current, yet they keep going

They move to the edges, find that reed gets in their way and find rocks to rest on

These three little ducks find coherence together

They find strength to get into the main flow of the river

Who? Me, the current river

Yet I constantly change

I change them and they change me

These three little ducks

River sounds

Splash!

Listen to me

Do you hear ‘quiet’?

Noise

So much noise

Yes, the superficial ones of passersby

And occasional speed monsters

But underneath too, so much noise

Splish splash Rrr Grr Splgr

You don’t have the letter for it

Sometimes plop

Sometimes fleuv

Ha, did someone listen deeply to a river and called it ‘fleuve’?

Sploshs

Constantly moving yet going nowhere but here

Come back here darling, away from your swirling thoughts

The fly teaches you something, if you give her a chance

She moves all over the space including your body,

Some sections tickle unbearably but some you can barely notice her being there,

You are not holding tight, and she naturally moves on without you doing anything.

Hmm, perhaps not reacting is perhaps the necessary reaction

Hmm, is she looking for water, of the non-salty kind?

You will never know what’s on her mind, but you can observe and let her be

Until she reaches a section – there I say boundary – where responding is the necessary reaction, in that moment in time.

In that moment, if you can look at it like the sparkles of light illuminating the surface of the water, if your own water can be calmly moving enough for you to hear the noise for what it is, and allow for a smile, a curiosity, a giggle

Splash like a child playing in the water with all the innocence of this fluid moment

Splash like the water moving and playing within itself, in its constant and beautiful changing forms

…fleuv
