Impressions

Images pressing on us

Unions of thoughts and feelings

A fingerprint of our imagination

Permanent print or invisible ink

What is the impression made on or made of?

Letters forming words in mind then paper or keyboard

Bodily feelings in the other’s presence

Solid as cliffs

Impermanent waves crashing against the rocks

Permeable as droplets in the air

Perspective

Sometimes we have to change vantage points to see the beauty

Sometimes too close to the ground, we can’t see the sun rising in the in-between below the sand dune and the sky

Is there a point in showing the sun rising to someone drowning in the ocean?

Will they even see it?

Probably not

Perhaps they first need to be pointed to a rock or a small island from which they can find a semblance of safety, a temporary solace which from they can sit and look up

To see the sun rising in the in-between between the sand dune and the sky

Balance

It is not about being right or wrong

More about knowing when tilting too much one way has happened

And tilting the other way would be beneficial

It is about dancing in and out

Without holding on too tight to a reality, decision or opinion

Being able to see what serves and what doesn’t and why

In order to avoid dizziness in the act of balancing

It is about being able to move one’s own mind, body and heart when time is right

It’s about making it right.

Sleep

Such a precious state of bliss, so often overlooked

Oh I see you, little sleepy head, you want to sleep now

Why does it seem so accessible now and did it not seem so then?

Mosquitos buzzing in my ear then and buzzing again now, bringing the ability to wake up closer

Cloudy sky or foggy head

How much sleep to get me back to a state of clarity

Clear is the need to sleep.

off-balance

Rest, little one, close your eyes for a few minutes

Timing is key

Close your eyes and get moving

Open your eyes and be still

See clearly what is real:

Trees, laughter, wind, thirst, anger are real

Sensations that help you find your centre when you’re off-balance

Easier to know when we’re off than in balance

Easier to balance when we move forward

Even though sometimes we’re not convinced that we’re not moving around a circle

Sometimes more comfortable to blow leaves than sit and observe how the leaves naturally move

What if we only had to be who we are to be in balance

Instead of fighting it, accepting that it will swing until it reaches equilibrium for a slow moment before it swings again, moving to find balance, balancing to balance, in circle we go
