Space

Personal space is such a subjective matter

How much space we feel we need to have

Around us moving through a crowd

How much sonic space is socially acceptable

How loud can one speak in an enclosed or public space until it becomes rude

How hard is it to not judge others and their behaviour

Who decides what is right or not

The weight of silence, how much silence can be held between two people until it becomes awkward

When is it a sign of intimacy and

When does it reflect lack thereof

How much can we speak with one another without saying anything

Why do some of us feel that our presence is already too much

It’s a fine line between judging and apologising

A balancing act direct in or out

In the space within or in between.

Energy

How much energy can we pour out

Into the bottomless pit

How much energy is attached

To other’s responses of what we give

If only that could just be it

Completely free of hope that

Others will support us in return

Puzzle

All the pieces are there

Staring at you

You look back

Try one piece after another

Not quite the right shape or colour?

You persist

Again and again

Then, you step away

When you come back

Sometimes it’s just there, staring at you

And finally you can see it

It was there all along

Hiding in plain sight

All you had to do is

Look again without trying so hard.
